You may be reluctant to use a crisis text line if you're in mental health recovery. Indeed, I was. I feel like I'm not getting better if I call the crisis line. I've been trying so hard to get out of breakdown mode, but I'm in it. It is a sense of defeat.

The Reason I Selected a Crisis Text Line

My antidepressant ran out a few days ago. I simply forgot to get it refilled on time, which was a dumb mistake that left me without it for two or three days. I didn't think about it too much at first because I assumed it wouldn't be a huge deal. 

After that, my depressive symptoms began to resurface intermittently. For a few hours, I would be alright, and then I would start crying, trembling, and feeling bad about myself. Then I'd be good to go again in a few hours. The waves subsided after a day or two, and the symptoms nearly always persisted.
