India’s political freedom, achieved through a protracted struggle, marked a historic milestone. However, in the 21st century, true sovereignty transcends political borders and flags to encompass technological autonomy. With wars increasingly fought in cyberspace and critical infrastructure reliant on foreign technology, technological dependence poses serious strategic vulnerabilities. This evolving reality demands that India embark on its own “long march” toward technological self-reliance and sovereignty.
