American Airlines Name Change Policy
Spotted a spelling mistake on your boarding pass? Don’t panic. The American Airlines Name Change Policy allows eligible passengers to correct certain minor typos and misspellings. However, correcting your own name is different from changing the passenger entirely—American Airlines does not allow tickets to be transferred to another person. Minor name corrections may be requested before departure, subject to the airline’s ticket and itinerary rules. If you booked within the applicable 24-hour period, eligible corrections can generally be made without a fee.
