Antimicrobial resistance is a growing global health challenge that occurs when microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites adapt and no longer respond to the medicines designed to kill them. This resistance makes common infections harder to treat, increases the risk of disease spread, and raises healthcare costs. At the core of our efforts is a commitment to promoting responsible antimicrobial use through coordinated stewardship programs, surveillance, and education. By addressing antimicrobial resistance through a One Health approach—integrating human, animal, and environmental health—we aim to preserve the effectiveness of life-saving treatments and protect public health for future generations.
